Coach Mitra — Privacy Policy
This policy explains how the Android app Coach Mitra (package com.redzoc.coachmitra) handles your information. Coach Mitra is made by RedZoc, which is run by Ramees Muhammed, an individual developer in Kochi, Kerala, India.
In short
Coach Mitra does not collect, store on any server, or share any personal information. The app has no internet access.
Camera
Coach Mitra uses your phone's camera to read coach codes (such as S5, B2 or A1) and platform position numbers on an arriving train.
- Camera images are processed on your phone, by Google's ML Kit text recognition model, which is built into the app.
- Images are never saved, never uploaded and never shared. Each camera frame is discarded as soon as it has been read.
- The camera is used only while the scanning screen is open, and stops when you leave it.
- You can refuse or remove the camera permission at any time in Android settings. The app cannot read coach codes without it.
Vibration
The app uses vibration to tell you when it finds a coach and when it finds yours. No information is involved.
Information stored on your phone
The app remembers your last coach choice (for example, Sleeper 5) so you do not have to enter it again. This is stored only inside the app on your phone. It is not backed up, not uploaded, and is deleted when you uninstall the app or clear its data.
Speech
Coach Mitra speaks through your phone's text-to-speech engine, which you choose in Android settings. The app passes it only short phrases such as "S 5, your coach". How that engine handles information is governed by its own maker's privacy policy.
No internet, accounts, ads or tracking
Coach Mitra does not request internet access. It has no accounts, no sign-in, no advertising, no analytics and no crash reporting. Because the app cannot connect to the internet, nothing can be sent from it to RedZoc or anyone else.
Children
Coach Mitra is a travel aid for the general public. It does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.
Not an official railway app
Coach Mitra is an independent app. It is not made by, endorsed by or connected with Indian Railways.
Changes to this policy
If a future version of Coach Mitra changes how information is handled (for example, by adding an online feature), this policy will be updated before that version is released, and the effective date above will change.
